To me the most interesting and challenging part of paragliding is Cross Country flying in mountains. Flying slow while discovering the area and trying my best to figure it all out as I fly along, without time limits or distance goals, to fly the day to the best of my ability.
With this book the goal is to help pilots discover Cross Country flying in mountains. St. Andre is a great place to fly, it’s one of the mecas for paragliding and has been around for a long time.
St. Andre can be tricky from spring to middle of summer, for less experience pilots the best time of the year is late August till October. The weather systems tend to be nicer this time of the year. Calmar and smoother thermals.
That said, this site is flyable from late February till around early November, best time of the year really depends on your ambitions. Spring can be really aggressive whereas the months of September and October tends to be a lot more pleasant.
